Ross Perot was right - politics

After Ross Perot debated then-President George H.W. Bush and candidate Bill Clinton he was ridiculed for his diminutive size, large ears, voice and "alarmist" message. 21 years later his forecast of the negative impact of our trade policy is eerily accurate. Compared to what they were pre-Reagan, workers' wages and our trade imbalance are completely amiss for an advanced nation. We import more finished goods (clothing, cars, appliances, electronics) than we produce and we are a net exporter of raw materials. In those ways we resemble a third-world country. Real wages here have fallen behind so Perot's prediction of foreign wages increasing while U.S. wages decline was spot on. Our failure to protect our manufacturing base while lowering taxes for our wealthiest citizens has resulted in the largest redistribution of wealth since the Gilded Age of the Robber Barons. Students of history know what happened at the end of the Roaring Twenties. The U.S. had its greatest prosperity, security and happiness (whatever that really is) during the '50s, '60s and '70s, which featured a manufacturing-based economy, virtually full employment, easy access to higher education and an advancing middle class. We need to get back to those policies.

Paul is a close second to Ross. Dont agree with his stance on hard drugs. That is what killed him in the media.

Obamacare: The Health Care Plan Run By Idiots For Idiots - politics

The most outrageous lie, endlessly repeated for four years, was President Obama's promise that "if you like your insurance, you will be able to keep it, period." This was stated frequently by the president as an absolute — without qualification — before and after the 2012 U.S. Supreme Court decision to uphold the law. Engaging in cascading revisionism, now the president adds what he repeatedly neglected to mention before: "Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really like that plan, what we said was you could keep it, if it hasn't changed since the law was passed." The president's new rhetoric neglects to mention that most of those "grandfathered" plans will change, as insurers reorganize to bring their plans in compliance with the current law. No matter, President Obama has judged for you: "If you lose your insurance, you will get something better." The fact is, the president lied, period.

We Are All Catholic Now - politics

I assume Obama supporters believe, as we are repeatedly told, that he is intelligent; the smartest person in the room some have said. He's fair, inclusive, caring, persistent, honest, on his game. He has an innate ability to choose a competent team. He's so smart he doesn't need to read daily intelligence briefings. He has coolness, patience and charisma. A Harvard professor, no less. Given these core competencies, why did he let his signature legislation, ObamaCare, fail so miserably? Fail so bad he has taken to hiding performance metrics from people and Congress. All he had to do is make a website that displayed prices and collected identifying information, not actually administer the insurance. Even a moderately-sized eCommerce site can do that and they cost tens of thousands of dollars, not the $1 billion that we now know the ObamaCare web site cost — as much as the new Giants Stadium. How could he fail so miserably given his supposed outstanding qualifications? Just call me master of the obvious …

If Americans really DIDN'T want socialized healthcare, they would have elected Romney.
